Around 5,000 children die every day from diseases caught by drinking dirty water

Over the past two years, over 25,000 children and parents have put on their wellies or walking boots to take part in sponsored walks for water as part of our Turn on the Tap campaign.
This year, we are calling September 'Walk for Water Month'.
We're encouraging churches, schools, community groups - anyone who wants to really, - to go on a local walk with a global purpose: to help provide clean drinking water to children and families in need.
Want to be a part of it?
It’s as easy as 1-2-3:
1. You organise a local walk with your school, church or community group (register your walk and plot it on our walk map by clicking here!)
2. Walkers join in the walk and agree to either be sponsored for taking part or donate a one-off amount of £4 towards Turn on the Tap. (£1 per mile!)
3. You all have a jolly good time going for a local walk with a global purpose!
4. Number 4 is purely here to let you know that the average distance women and children in Africa walk for water is 4 miles. How far would you go?
Once you’ve completed your walk, make sure you send us all the details – that way your story can feature on our Walk Stories page and your miles can be added to our walkometer!
Time to get those walking boots on…
