Ideas for Groups

Getting involved in Turn on the Tap as a church, school, workplace or community group is fun and easy-to-do.

Check out a few of our ideas below...

  • Go on a walk for water -  Get together as a group and go on a local walk with a global purpose. The children can get sponsored to walk, the adults can make a donation to come along, and the brave ones can even take up a personal sponsored challenge! Our Turn on the Tap Activity Guide contains ideas on how to make it fun and interesting for all involved, plus a step-by-step guide for the walk organiser.

  • Get dancing! - Dance is big news – on ice, in the street, strictly, etc. Why not get your group organised into teams of 6 to 10 people and challenge them to come up with a hilarious and interesting dance routine. They can wear wellies, or big boots, and choose a fancy dress theme, then come up with their routine. The 'dance off' event would be the chance to have some fun and also add some elements that will raise funds for Turn on the Tap.

  • Swim for life - Get your group to swim the length of the English Channel...in a swimming pool! Ask everyone in your group to swim what they can in lengths of your local swimming pool to make up the overall total length. You could even approach your local swimming club, invite friends/family/colleagues and make it into a special Turn on the Tap gala
